Lithophane maker

A lithophane is a thin 3D print that reveals a photo when you hold it up to light — thicker plastic is darker, thinner is brighter. Drop a photo, choose flat, curved or a cylinder for a night light, set the thickness and frame, and download a ready-to-slice STL or 3MF. Everything is built in your browser.

Private: your files never leave your device.

Photos with good contrast and faces or landscapes work best. Everything happens on your device.

  3. Step 3: Press “Create lithophane”, look at the 3D preview and download the STL or 3MF.

Frequently asked questions

What settings should I print with?

White PLA, 100% infill, thin layers (0.12–0.16 mm) and slow outer walls. Printing flat lithophanes standing upright gives the smoothest detail.

What thickness should I use?

0.8 mm for the brightest parts and 3 mm for the darkest is a good start. Thicker maximums give more contrast but need a brighter light.

How do I make a lamp?

Choose Cylinder, set the circumference (the tool shows the diameter) and put an LED tea light inside. The frame adds a solid rim at the top and bottom.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The 3D model is generated on your device.
