Frequently asked questions

Where do I find the weight and time?

Your slicer shows both after slicing (Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer). Those numbers are more accurate than the estimate from the model.

How is the weight estimated from an STL?

The walls and top/bottom layers (about 1.2 mm) are counted as solid and the inside at your infill percentage, multiplied by the material’s density.

What electricity price should I use?

Look at your bill. Georgian household tariffs are roughly 0.25–0.35 ₾ per kWh; a typical printer uses 100–200 W while printing.

What margin do print shops use?

Anything from 30% to 200%, depending on design work, finishing and urgency. The calculator shows the cost so you can decide.
