Trim audio files

Cut an audio file down to just the part you need: a ringtone, a podcast clip, or a song without the long intro. Play it, set the start and end (to a tenth of a second), add a gentle fade in or out, and download it in the same format.

Private: your files never leave your device.

How to use Trim audio

  1. Step 1: Open an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or FLAC file.

  2. Step 2: Play it and set the start and end, using “Set to current position” or by typing times.

  3. Step 3: Press Trim, listen to the result and download it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make a ringtone?

Yes. Trim to 20–30 seconds, add a fade out, and download. iPhones need the file converted to M4A — use WAV to MP3 & audio converter.

Does trimming reduce quality?

WAV and FLAC stay lossless. MP3, M4A and OGG are re-encoded at high quality (192 kbps) so the cut is exact.

Is my audio uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.
