Is it safe to convert MP4 to MP3 with Toola?
Yes. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Your video is never uploaded to a server, so nobody else can see it.
How big can my MP4 file be?
Files up to about 2 GB work on most desktop computers. Phones have less memory, so we recommend files under 500 MB on mobile. The first conversion downloads a ~31 MB converter once; after that it is cached.
Which MP3 bitrate should I choose?
192 kbps is a good balance of quality and size for music and podcasts. Choose 320 kbps for the highest quality or 128 kbps for the smallest files, such as spoken word.
Can I download audio from YouTube with this?
No. Toola only converts files you already have on your device. Downloading from YouTube or other streaming sites breaks their terms of service.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Toola works in modern mobile browsers such as Safari and Chrome. Very long videos convert faster on a computer.
