Frequently asked questions
How are words counted?
Toola uses your browser’s language-aware word segmentation, so words are counted correctly in English, Georgian and most other languages. Punctuation and spaces are not words.
Does the character count include spaces?
Both are shown: “Characters” includes spaces and line breaks, “Characters (no spaces)” leaves them out.
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time assumes 238 words per minute (an average adult silent reading speed); speaking time assumes 140 words per minute.
Is my text stored anywhere?
No. Counting happens in your browser and nothing is sent or saved.
