How to use Online voice recorder
Step 1: Press Record and allow the microphone.
Step 2: Speak; pause and resume as often as you like, then press Stop.
Step 3: Choose the clean-up options and the format, and save the recording.
Recording a clear voice
- Stay about a hand's width (15–20 cm) from the microphone, slightly off to the side so breaths don't pop.
- Watch the level meter: it should reach the right half when you speak and never turn red.
- Soft rooms sound better than bare ones: curtains, a sofa or a wardrobe of clothes reduce echo, which no tool can fully remove later.
- Turn off fans and close the window. What is left, “Remove background noise” takes care of.
What happens when you save

Frequently asked questions
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. Recording, clean-up and saving all happen in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
Why doesn’t the microphone work?
Your browser has to be allowed to use it: click the microphone or lock icon next to the address and choose Allow. On a computer, also check that the right microphone is chosen; after the first recording you can pick another one below the Record button.
How long can I record?
As long as you like. Clean-up works on recordings of up to 30 minutes; longer ones can be saved as they were recorded.
What does “Remove background noise” do?
It removes steady noise such as fans, computer hum and traffic while keeping the voice, using the same RNNoise model as the Remove background noise tool.
Can I turn the recording into text?
Yes: save it, then open Audio & video to text.
