Color grade a video

Give a video a look (warm golden hour, teal and orange, faded film, moody or black and white), then fine-tune light, white balance, vibrance, three-way color wheels and an eight-color mixer while the video plays with a before/after split. Load a .cube LUT from your camera maker or editing app, or save your grade as a LUT to use in other apps. The whole clip is exported as an H.264 MP4 with its sound. Nothing is uploaded.

Private: your files never leave your device.

MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV up to 2 GB. Grade on a frame from the video, then export the whole clip with the same look.

How to use Video color grading

  1. Step 1: Add a video.

  2. Step 2: Pick a look and adjust the sliders, wheels and mixer while comparing before and after on any frame.

  3. Step 3: Choose quality and resolution, then export the graded MP4.

A simple grading order

Grade in the same order a colorist does, and each step stays easy to judge:

  1. Fix exposure and contrast so the picture is neither muddy nor clipped.
  2. Set white balance with Temperature and Tint until white things look white.
  3. Only then add a look, color wheels or a LUT for style.
  4. Finish with Vibrance or the mixer, for example calming down a too-blue sky or bringing skin tones back.

Scrub through the clip before you export. A grade that looks right on a bright frame can crush the shadows in a darker shot, so check the darkest and brightest moments.

Log footage and LUTs

Drones and cameras that record in a log profile (D-Log, S-Log, V-Log) look flat and grey on purpose. Load the conversion LUT your camera maker publishes, keep the strength at 100% and adjust exposure on top. To give photos the same look, save the grade as a .cube file and load it in Photo color grading.

Exporting re-encodes every frame. To save time, trim the video to the part you need first, and choose 1080p if the result is for social media.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use LUTs from my camera?

Yes. Load any 3D .cube LUT, such as the conversion LUTs DJI, Sony, Panasonic and others publish for their log profiles. The strength slider blends it, and the other controls work on top.

Do my photos and videos match?

They can. The photo color grading tool uses the same engine: save a grade there as a .cube LUT and load it here (or the other way round) to give a set of photos and clips the same look.

How long does the export take?

Every frame is processed in your browser, so on a laptop it takes roughly as long as the video plays, and longer for 4K. Choose 1080p or 720p to speed it up.

Is the sound kept?

Yes. AAC sound is copied as it is; other formats are converted to AAC.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Preview and export both happen on your device.
