Crop a video
Turn a landscape clip into a vertical video for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, make a square post, or cut away a distracting edge. Pick a shape, drag the frame over the part you want to keep and make it smaller to zoom in. Toola writes an H.264 MP4 with the sound kept, ready for any app.

Cropping a landscape 1920 × 1080 video to 9:16 leaves a 606 × 1080 picture, so keep the frame as large as possible and put it on the subject. If the video is sideways, fix it with Rotate video first.
Frequently asked questions
Does cropping lower the quality?
Cropping keeps fewer pixels, so the result has a smaller resolution than the original; nothing is upscaled. The video is re-encoded at high quality (H.264, CRF 20).
Can the frame follow a moving subject?
No, the frame stays in one place for the whole clip. For a subject that moves a lot, choose a larger frame or trim the video into parts first.
My video plays sideways. Will the crop be wrong?
No. Phone rotation is applied first, so you crop the picture as you see it.
Is my video uploaded?
No. It's processed in your browser.
