Reverse a video or make a boomerang
Make water flow uphill, un-pour a drink or un-jump into a pool. Toola plays your video backwards, with the sound reversed too if you like, or makes a boomerang that goes forwards and then back, like the Instagram effect. Videos up to three minutes; the result is an H.264 MP4 that plays everywhere.
Private: your files never leave your device.
How to use Reverse video
Step 1: Add one or more videos.
Step 2: Choose Play backwards or Boomerang.
Step 3: Press Start and download the MP4.
Clips that look great in reverse
- Pouring, splashing and jumping into water.
- Throwing something into the air, or a sweep of falling leaves or confetti.
- Walking or driving: everyone else moves backwards.
- Building or tidying something, so it seems to assemble itself.
For a boomerang, trim the video to a one-to-three-second moment first. To slow it down or speed it up, use Change video speed, and turn it into a looping GIF with Video to GIF.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there a length limit?
Reversing needs the frames in memory, and a browser can only use so much. Toola reverses the video in short pieces to handle up to three minutes; cut longer videos with Trim video first.
How long should a boomerang be?
One to five seconds. Trim a short moment first, then make the boomerang; Video to GIF can turn it into a GIF.
Does reversed sound make sense?
Speech sounds strange backwards, which is often the fun. For music, untick the sound option or replace it afterwards with Add audio to video.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser.
