Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a percentage of a number?
Multiply the number by the percent and divide by 100. 15% of 200 = 200 × 15 ÷ 100 = 30.
How is percentage change calculated?
(new − old) ÷ |old| × 100. Going from 80 to 100 is a 25% increase; from 100 to 80 is a 20% decrease.
How do I add 18% VAT to a price?
Use “Increase or decrease a value by X%”, enter the price and 18, and choose Increase. 100 becomes 118.
