Scan a document from a photo

Photograph a page with your phone, drop the photo in, and Toola straightens it, removes the shadows and gives you a clean scan in colour, grey or black and white. The four corners are found automatically and you can drag them to fix them. Add several pages, choose A4 or Letter, and save one PDF or JPG files. Your photos never leave your device.

Private: your files never leave your device.

Tip: put the page flat on a darker table, shoot straight from above in even light, and keep all four corners in the picture.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get the best scan from a phone photo?

Put the page flat on a darker table, photograph it straight from above with even light and no shadow of your hand, and keep all four corners in the picture.

What do the looks mean?

Colour keeps colours and whitens the paper, Grey is a clean greyscale for text with pictures, and Black & white gives crisp text that compresses well. The slider adjusts contrast, or how much counts as ink in Black & white.

Can I make a multi-page PDF?

Yes. Add up to 10 photos; each page has its own corners, and the PDF follows the order you added them.

Why are the corners not exactly right?

Automatic detection looks for the brightest large area, which fails on busy backgrounds or a white table. Drag the corners; the preview updates as you move them.

Is it uploaded anywhere?

No. Detection, straightening and clean-up all run in your browser.

Can I turn the scan into editable text?

Yes: save a JPG and use Image to text (OCR), which reads Georgian too.
